What is a Traceroute?

Traceroute is used to traces a packet from your computer to a destination Host, which send a sequence of User datagram Protocol (UDP) packets addressed to a destination host. It also shows how many hops the packet requires to reach the host and how long each hop takes.

If you're visiting a Web site (eg. www.google.com) and pages are appearing slowly, you can use traceroute to figure out where the longest delays are occurring.IN easy words we can say that it tells you the places from where your data passes and where is it being redirected to.For those who dont know what it is you will get a better idea once you will see the results.
