Its was about 3 or 4 months after the windows 8 launch that Microsoft announced the update to its latest operating system and called it windows 8.1. Windows 8 brought a whole lot changes to windows and removed the start menu which was the key to the operating system and introduced " start ' with live tiles menu. It was new for windows consumers and some even downgraded from 8 to version 7 but its to all my friends who liked the windows version 8 or even hated it , I am pretty sure you are going to love the new release.
REVIVAL OF START MENU!
its said that the new operating system will vanish the current star menu style with tiles page dominating the start up of windows, instead a start menu button will be present in the task-bar similar to what we have seen since windows vista which will then show up the live tile in it as well as recent and pinned apps.
The latest update to windows 8.1 brought a feature to close modern UI apps that are present on the start screen to close with the red cross button similar to desktop apps. Analysts believe that those modern UI apps will now be supporter into the next version of window's desktop app. So you will be able to open apps like mail and latest IE app on the desktop itself.
WHAT IS WINDOWS THRESHOLD?
Well, There was rumour that the next windows i.e windows 9 is codenamed windows threshold but it turns out threshold is a project by Microsoft which will bring similar updates to all its operating system based devices such as smartphones. XBOX and tablets.But what exactly does it mean?
it means that now developers can create and app once and can make it available for all the windows supported devices with having just a minor change in them.
WHEN CAN WE SEE THE WINDOWS 9 ?
Microsoft has announced an event on september 30th and we may see the developer preview of the windows and after 1 or 2 months the consumer preview releaases and we can get our hands on the lates windows 9 .
