Galaxy note 5 | First 4k smartphone

Samsung's galaxy note series is known for its new innovation in display technology every year but Since galaxy S6 was released everyone is looking forward to the note 5 and a lot of speculation are in the air these days as to what will be the pixel density and the size of the display on the device. A company called Sharp is famous for its display R&D in its labs and making the world's first bezel less smartphone, The Sharp Aquos Crystal. If you haven't then check that phone out here.Sharp just a few days ago announce a 5.5 inch 4K display , yes you read it right! A 4K display that will rest in your palm with a mind blowing pixel density of 806 ppi. Insane, the only word that comes to my mind when I read those numbers but the question is do we really need that resolution ? How much battery will it take ?

  Resolution

326 ppi is the resolution found in iphones since iphone 4 was announced till iphone 6 but iphone 6 plus have a resolution of 401 ppi and we here are talking about 806 ppi. Anything over 400 pixel is just impossible to differentiate with normal un aided eyes which means you can never see pixels. But on these displays you cannot watch a 4K movie so having extra resolution will only help if you have 4K media, and this makes sense as 4K is becoming quite normal these days from YouTube to cameras, you can enjoy your high quality media in its full resolution.

  Battery

Extra pixels require extra power to charge them and A 4K resolution has 4 times the resolution a 1080p display has but Samsung recently launched their smartphone the galaxy S6 which not only pushes 577 ppi display till 4 hours of screen on time but charges in 10 mins to give about an extra 4 hours of battery with both screen on and off time included.Technology like these combined with IGZO display may reduce the power consumption in half and the device can make it to the market sooner than we think it will...
