Not to mention the 25 billion dollars revenue that apple have earned with the sale of apps and in app purchases on the app store since the launch of the store but all those 10 billion dollars that were given to the developers would be a thing to dream if the apple's app store alone was FREE!
well, If this wasn't shocking enough then the fact that google's play store inspite being easily avoidable and apps being side loaded on an enormous scale is catching up to the revenue of app store and will overtake the app store in 2018 might shake you a little.
But, What if All apps were always free??
If you think its just a matter of money and the profits that both the companies make then my friend this is Tech god not economy God! What we will look here is at the user experience.
Its not uncommon or rare to find people say that " iPhones are already so expensive then why the heck I have to buy so many apps? " not all good apps are paid but sometimes those little ads are enough to distract us from the app itself. Click - purchase - agree this is what takes to purchase an app via any store.What if iphones and android phones both had their app store absolutely free, what would you choose? will it ever affect your decision on purchasing android or iphone? of course!
App store on the ios being the elder brother contains more apps into its operating system and ipads supprting the lil bro on heavy tasks can do quite well with the apps available while on the other hand crashing of an in built camera app on the latest galaxy smartphone can be irritating as hell and the condition of some play apps is a nightmare on some devices.Actually I am confused and I am sure you are too so what do you think would happen to the smartphone market if all the apps went free? feel free to comment and contact me personally from this little form.
